Donnell's passion for real estate really began as a little boy. Many a Fall Sunday he and his mother would leave his father at home watching the football game as they toured open houses. He developed his mother's keen eye for details and appreciation for custom upgrades.
Upon graduating from the College of William & Mary Donnell began his career in the financial arena. Having always enjoyed working with people, he chose to start in retail banking management. During the stock market surge he transitioned into investment banking and became a financial advisor. Through this, Donnell learned that all solid portfolios should include an array of investments and he found that real estate was a key factor in wealth accumulation.
Donnell purchased his first property, a three unit apartment building, in DC's Capitol Hill neighborhood in 2000. This laid the groundwork for his addiction to renovating! Soon thereafter he left his nine-to-five (with the help of his apartment building's income!) and went into the mortgage business. At the same time, Donnell became a licensed real estate agent in the metropolitan Washington, DC area.
Over the past seven years Donnell has purchased, renovated and sold several houses including his personal residences as well as investment properties. At Northgate Realty, Donnell is known as one of our "Renovation Specialists" and is often consulted on listing appointments.
There is no greater accomplishment than capturing a property's inner beauty and transforming it into a flawless gem.
